Looking back!

We made art! We learned about grafitti artist Greg Mike. He created the character Larry Loudmouf as a way to communicate with the members of his community. Greg Mike creates huge murals with realistic and cartoon elements. When we looked carefully at his murals we noticed that Larry appears quite often and always has something to say about being kind and making the world a better place.

In math we have reviewed Grade 3 skills in adding, subtracting, multiplication and division. We will be completing an assessment of last year's skills that I will send home later next week. Many students made goals to work on their math skills at home so that they feel confident and ready for grade four math.

Looking ahead!

Library day is on Thursday!

Thank you to all of you who attended Meet the Teacher night and sent back the Student Questionnaire. Your input is important and helps me meet the needs of your children.

Friday, September 26 is Orange Shirt Day. We will be learning about truth and reconciliation in the classroom and students are invited to wear an orange shirt on that day. We will be going on a Community walk on that day.

There is no school on Monday, September 29 for a PD Day. Tuesday, September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and there is no school for students.

Finish Up!

We had Finish Up Friday today! Throughout the week students are given adequate time to complete tasks. Any tasks that are not completed are stored in a Finish Up Folder and students are given time to complete work on Fridays. Any work that is not finished will be sent home on Fridays and can be returned the next week when complete. You can check here for a list of possible assignments, instructions and necessary materials.

This week:

  • Visual Journal cover: colour and return. Thank you for returning borrowed pencil crayons.
