This week in Grade Four!
We started a new chapter book called The House with a Dragon in it by Nick Lake. It's a fantasy book and we learned that this genre often includes magic, imaginary places and fantastic creatures. To go with the novel we created our own dragon eyes art using Model Magic. We focused on the elements of art form and texture to make our eyes come alive.
In math we completed our work on time. In grade four students learned to relate time on an analog clock to fractions. For example, we learned how to use quarter past, half past and quarter to to tell time. We also worked on solving time problems involving duration.
Coming Up!
Please keep your eye on your child's backpack for their Science Notebook next week. We've completed our work on Earth Systems and will be having an assessment on Wednesday, January 28. Please send your child's notebook back to school by that date.
