This week in grade 4:
We have been working on a special art project this week! First, we learned about Vincent van Gogh and reflected on a piece of his art. Then, using his painting of sunflowers as inspiration we created our own sunflower painting.
In math we reviewed multiplication and division facts. We're getting ready to dive into Prime and Composite Numbers next week. We are going to learn how to mutliply and divide by 10, 100 and 1000 next week and then we'll be repeating our assessment of basic facts from September.
Coming Up:
We have completed our work on our Science unit Earth Systems and students have brought their notebooks home to review. Please send your child's notebook back to school by the day of our assessment. Our assessment will be on Thursday, January 29.
Book Talks are starting in February! This is our second round of presentations and this time students will be choosing a chapter book and preparing a short speech to share with the class. Book Talks are under 2 minutes and students will be bringing home a planning sheet to complete. In class we'll be talking about presentation skills.
We are going to the Hitmen Be Brave Anti-Bullying game on February 24! Please complete and return forms by February 20. Fees can be payed through your myCBE account.
