This week in Grade Four!

For buddies today we used our mapping skills to help our buddies create treasure maps. We included compass roses, landmarks and, of course, X marked the spot!

We are writing personal narratives! We examined a mentor text for transition words, a hook and a closing and then thought of an event from our lives that we can remember well and has a big emotion attached to it. Then we planned a beginning, middle and end for our narratives. We're going to be writing our rough copies next week!

Coming Up:

Tuesday, March 17 is wear green day at MTS school!

The Book Fair is coming to our school. We will preview the Book Fair on Tuesday and then have a time for purchasing materials on Thursday. Students can bring money to school that day or purchase books during Parent Teacher Conferences.

Please book your parent–teacher conference online beginning on Saturday, March 14.

Conferences will be held in person on:

  • Thursday, March 19 from 3:30–7:30 p.m.

  • Friday, March 20 from 8:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.

Due to our large class size, there are only enough conference times for each family to book one appointment. If more than one time is booked for the same family, I will need to contact you to cancel one of the appointments so that all families have the opportunity to meet.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

During Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday, March 19 and Friday, March 20, we invite families to place a colourful push pin on our world map located in our Learning Commons to show where their family comes from. Together, we’ll create a vibrant picture celebrating the diverse backgrounds that make up our school community!
